Students and Parents Teachers and Educators Technical Personnel and Administrators

SchoolConcept allows students and their parents to access all of a school's content in an easy, personalized way. SchoolConcept enables parents, students, and teachers to interact in an easy-to-use Web 2.0 environment, encouraging more frequent and higher quality communication.

Easy Access and Navigation

Whereas traditional school sites arrange information in a maze of confusing navigation, SchoolConcept has a modest navigation in a style with which users are already familiar. Whether on a teacher, student, school, or district site, information is grouped into a handful of categories. Students get their own sites, where they and their parents can see recently added information for all their classes in one place, as well as recent student, school, and district activity.

Blogs

Students and their parents can always get the most up-to-date information posted on a site, because the most recent blog is always at the top of the page. If users are interested in more specific information, blogs can be filtered by date and tag to quickly find and bookmark relevant content – no more information overload! Also, SchoolConcept's system enables students to contribute material to their class, school, and district pages - after it's been approved.

Get Connected

Students who add a class will automatically be signed up to receive important information via email from that teacher. Parents can sign up to receive emails about a class as well, allowing them to receive crucial information about upcoming due dates and assignments.

SchoolConcept enables teachers and other faculty to manage feature-rich websites without any technical knowledge. SchoolConcept offers a cutting-edge Web 2.0 content management system to allow educators to easily and effectively share information, assignments, files, discussions, and more.

Manage Content

SchoolConcept allows teachers to create a blog with integrated calendar functionality and an extremely flexible tagging system for organization. Blog posts can be used to share all kinds of information, from due dates and assignments to class discussions and videos.

SchoolConcept also allows faculty members to distribute important files and documents, such as syllabi, rubrics and worksheets. Members can also manage a collection of helpful links and share a personal biography.

Interact

Students and teachers can post blogs and comments, fostering an open, persistent discussion that can be shared with everyone in the school community. Parents and students can receive important emails about class assignments and due dates, or contact a teacher directly by email with questions or concerns.

SchoolConcept makes life easy for technology professionals. Teachers, students, and parents get to enjoy a modern Web 2.0 system, and SchoolConcept does all the work, alleviating the burden on school resources and personnel.

Software as a Service

SchoolConcept's Software as a Service (SaaS) model is a major benefit to schools and districts. Sites are hosted in our datacenter, so there's no hardware to purchase, maintain, and upgrade. Security and data backup are handled by SchoolConcept as well, so there's no worry about protecting the privacy and integrity of your investment. There are no installations to configure, no updates or patches to install, no upgrades to be sold. Every organization will always have the very latest and very best that SchoolConcept has to offer, as security updates, bug fixes, and new features are automatically applied system-wide - at no cost.

Cross Platform

SchoolConcept can easily be accessed on any modern platform. Supported browsers include Internet Explorer 6+, Mozilla Firefox 1.5+, and Safari 3+, on Microsoft Windows 2003/XP/Vista/Mobile, Mac OSX 10.3/10.4/10.5/iPhone/iPod, as well as any Unix/Linux distribution using KDE/GNOME for its desktop enviroment.

This means that SchoolConcept will work on existing and future hardware, popular and open source operating systems, and even many mobile devices. It requires no extra work or special configuration to do so; it just works.

User Roles

SchoolConcept provides built-in user roles to help manage member access. Students never have the ability to post any content without approval by a teacher or administrator. Teachers control most aspects of their own sites, but must obtain administrator approval to post content to school and district sites. Administrators can admin one or many organizations from a single dashboard, simplifying the process.

Free Support

Free 24/7 email support is included at no extra charge for all members. Our extensive inline-help and FAQs, as well as video tutorials and teacher community (coming soon) also provide additional self-help resources for faculty. Teachers who have questions can get answers directly from our helpful SchoolConcept experts, freeing school technical personnel for other tasks and saving valuable man-hours.
